I have noticed that if i am planning something important to me i should never tell anyone, except parents probably. 99% that the plan will fail immediately.

When i was in my 6th school year i told my very close (at that time) friend that i am going to England with my dad, so i could practice my english. Guess what... yep, i have never been to England. That i dont want its another story, but i have planned it once...

Today i had something to do in the center of Frankfurt,  i also went for a walk, managed not to by anything in creative stuff shop and bought couple of books, including "Lean in" by Sheryl Sandberg from the list in the previous post.
If it is possible to speak about relationship with a city, my relationships with Frankfurt are complicated. No other city brougtht me such amount of dissapointments as this one, and still i would not change it for any other. At least yet.

On self-development

Frankly speaking i really have no idea what to write about, so let me just post the list of books on self-development, psychology and so on. I have already read couple of them, they were  interesting and even probably useful, and i am also planning to read some more. Maybe 3 or 5 more.

The point is not to substitute self-development itself with reading books on self-development if you know what i mean. Some people do read tonns of such literature, but do they have time to apply the knowledge they gained? I doubt. I also do not know any millionaire who would tell - hey guys i read this book, did this and this and here i am, possessing millions on my account.  So, why read?

Anyway, there are some good tricks, especially in books describing something that can be used in your profession whenever it is investing or writting articles on the internet. Also some of so called career-books can be really inspiring, and these are books which i have to read from time to time, because i am such a person who always needs artificial motivation.. or i fuck up everything.

Short note on popularization and profanation of vampire character in modern literature and media

I would like to suggest you a very short essay that i drafted a couple of years ago basing on the stuff i have read on the internet. That is a pretty naive compilation of known facts, so i hope not to violate anyone's work. 

The first association when speaking about vampires nowadays appears to be  "Twilight", no matter the novel or movie, then come “The vampire diaries”. 

The audience of both mostly consists of  teenage romantic girls dreaming of a prince willing to marry them and bring to a new happy life which will last forever. And these products are not only ones, permanently new literature works are produced in grea quantity, it does not seem possible even to count them. The vampires in such novels and films are sparkling vegetarian creatures living as usual people in human world. They are no more considered as dismaying monsters arised from darkness or even hell. And not even as tragical outcasts who could be accepted and understood  in their almost alien nature. They are considered being cool now, other word hardly can be found here, the horror element definitely vanishes. I would like to clarify how it became possible.

As all the cultural phenomenons the vampire figure's development happens in a logical manner. 

From the beginning of time vampire legends have existed on earth, their traces as dreadful living dead can be found in ancient China, Greece and Persia. Though the word "vampire" is a modern one, bloodsucking monsters have frightened imagination of people all over the world for a long time, according to mythology.  With the integration of mythology into the literature the transformation of the character begins. The most important here is the period  XVIII-XIX centuries, when literature gained independence from Church and literature works became more personalised.  Some significant poems and novels have been written at that time, but the most important without any exaggeration is the acknowledged classical masterpiece created by Bram Stoker - "Dracula". 

The author combined folklore with real historical personality of Vlad Tepes, giving him the most recognisable features of vampires: drinking blood, ability to manipulate different animals, to change their shape etc. Very important in this novel are also female characters, Lucy and Mina.
As the first one was performing weakness being the victim of Dracula, the second one appeared strong and helped to destroy the Count.  For many years later the figure of Dracula stayed canon of vampire genre. Especially in the cinema, where the most significant was Bela Lugishi's appearence in the Role - the noble aristocrat in black. The film by F.F, Coppola even sharpened that look. 
In the end of 20th century comes Ann Rice with her Vampire Chronicles, revolutioning the image of Vampire and bringing a new explosion to vampire genre. The title character, Lestat possesses a human nature, but as well both sides of it: a tragic and savage, even evil one.

The second title character, Louis, suffers from his new essence, refusing to drink human blood. With developmemt of cinema production vampire soap-opoeras start  to capture the attention of spectators, music also gives vampires publicity. Later internet rushes into our lives making a lot of things easier, including creative writing and spreading the new-written novel all over the world with help of fans. So the vampires become more and more popular and usual in our lives, losing their horror heritage.   

About giving a try

I have been thinking on creating a blog in English for a long-long time and finally i just did it. Right here. I have no idea whether i ll be writting regularly or just give up in few days, but i decided to try. This is my first experience with blogger and i am not sure how to use it properly, so i beg your pardon in advance if something does not look nicely or anything else.   As your see, English is not my native tongue, but i hope it is not that bad as far as i managed to graduate from university after several years of studying in this language.

Maybe i should post some thoughts already now but i am not sure what to write. Huh... Ehm.. Well.

Yesterday a friend of mine told me how she has been watching the Hobbit  (Peter Jackson movie, there are also some old animated movies i guess) with her 5 year old daughter. All the time she has been thinking that this kind of movie is a bit too early to watch for her girl. But the girl liked it very much and even said that it was better than Harry Potter.

And i remembered how my parents told me once that one book by Astrid Lindgren was for elder children than i was at that time. I guess i was 7. Se-ven! When i read it probably one year later i realized that i have overgrown that book already some time ago. I still liked it, but if i had read it earlier, it would have been definitely much more enjoyable for me. Maybe we should always give something a try without thinking that is too late or early. There is nothing bad about a try.

Yesterday i found that book in german on the internet i am going to reread it.
